A community-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting, empowering, and caring for at-risk youth and their families.

Rooted in Cambria County

Established in 1977, Appalachian Youth Service (AYS) is a nonprofit organization in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania, dedicated to supporting at-risk youth. We provide a safe, structured environment that helps youth successfully transition back into their communities through licensed residential and day treatment programs. All services are fully licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) under 3800 regulations.

Our mission is to help youth develop and live healthy, fulfilling lives by equipping them with the resources, support, and life skills needed to make positive choices, build meaningful relationships, and remain free from abusive behaviors, criminal activity, and other negative influences.

Our Purpose

Through therapeutic treatment, care, and education, we help youth move beyond harmful behaviors by building resilience, developing practical life skills, and creating a strong foundation for lasting success.
